ˇˇˇˇThe brand Baijingyu can date its history back to as early as the Ming Dynasty under the reign of the Emperor Yongle, when a civilian named Baijingyu run the Jinyang Eye Ointment Shop in Dingzhou of Hebei of that time, and his Jinyang eye ointment earned him fame and reputation due to its outstanding medicinal effects. There is also an anecdote involving the Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty. He once paid an undisclosed trip to areas where common people live, and during the journey he was accidentally infected with an eye illness, with his eye unbearably burned. It didn't recover even after he took medicines prescribed by his imperial physicians. Later, he made his way to find Jinyang Eye Ointment Shop, and felt relieved immediately after applying its eye ointment. Overjoyed, he wrote down ˇ°Jinyang Herbal Medicine Shopˇ± in Chinese as a gift to the shop. From then on, the shop and its eye ointments became famous and well-known to people.
ˇˇˇˇUp to modern times in December 2006, the co***ny was recognized as the ˇ°Time-honored Enterpriseˇ± and given a plate inscribing the identity in Chinese.
